The project

Located in East Lombok, the Sambelia 1 Solar Power Plant is part of the first wave of utility-scale solar projects in Indonesia—marking a key milestone in the nation’s clean energy journey. Officially commissioned in December 2019, the plant operates under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the national grid operator, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

By delivering reliable solar energy to the region, Sambelia 1 plays an important role in supporting Indonesia’s renewable energy ambitions while also fostering local development.
