The project

Located in Terengganu, the 116 MWp Coara Marang Solar Plant is one of the largest and most technologically advanced in Malaysia. Developed under the LSS3 programme and backed by a project finance loan from Maybank, the plant reached financial close in December 2020 and began commercial operations in September 2022. It supplies clean energy to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) under a 21-year PPA.

Praised by the Malaysian government as “a benchmark for solar farms in the country”, Coara Marang features elevated structures and bi-facial PV modules designed for optimal performance and resilience.

Coara Marang serves as a reflection of our long-term commitment to innovation, partnerships, and helping Malaysia meet its renewable energy targets with integrity.

Project status

Working with communities and our environment

From the beginning, our work at Coara Marang has gone beyond clean energy, we’re equally committed to empowering the local community. Through our CSR initiatives, we’ve supported education, job creation, and local well-being in Marang.

By engaging with local schools, offering training and employment opportunities, and sourcing services from nearby businesses, we’ve helped create long-lasting value beyond the project site. It’s our way of ensuring that the energy transition benefits everyone, especially the communities we work alongside.
